In the first of the Sligo Walking Series, taking place every Wednesday of June 2021, local walking guide and archaeologist Auriel Robinson of Seatrails introduces a group of local walkers to the Queen Maeve Trail on Knocknarea. This short video diary features Auriel speaking about the walk, the archaeology of the area and in particular the importance of the Queen Maeve Cairn which sits on the summit of the mountain.
This walk is part of the Sligo Walking Series, and is free to the public, under Covid-19 restrictions on groups gathering in public places. Promoted by Sligo County Council through Healthy Ireland, and with the support of Sligo Walks and Trailgazers.
