Sligo is connected by train and bus to all cities/towns of Ireland and the nearest airport to Sligo is Knock Airport, c 30 mins drive away. If driving from Dublin, expect to be 3 hours on the road.

Top Tip!
We recommend you rent a car in Ireland as that is the best way to see things that are off the beaten track. If you do, get a good up-to-date AA road map and do not rely solely on Google Maps or Sat Nat for smaller roads/isolated destinations. Be careful, the roads are blind once you hit the countryside and expect to meet farm traffic. Our driving laws are very strict, there are speed cameras. No drink can be consumed whatsoever if behind the wheel! Always wave to the person walking on the road or to locals, that’s what we do here! If driving in Sligo, we will give you directions how to find the start points of the trails.
