Our Benbulben Mountain Trail is one of the best hikes in Ireland! It is one of the five table top mountains in the world and the only one in Ireland. Benbulben Mountain is plateau shaped, 526 metres high and towers over the gorgeous green and rural landscape of Sligo and the Wild Atlantic Way coastline. It is a photographer’s paradise.Your expert guide Auriel Robinson will take you on a journey you won’t forget. She is an experienced, qualified archaeologist and passionate about Irish history and she will clearly explain your surroundings as you hike this wonderful mountain.

Important Details:

This hike is ok for children but over 8 years and for children who are used to the outdoors and walking/hiking. Your child is strictly your responsibility on the hike.

Meeting point is Drumcliffe Church and Graveyard, 15 mins north of Sligo Town on N15 at 10.30 am on Sunday 21st July. Please come to the larger of the two carparks and call Auriel on arrival. Ph: 087 2405071. We may carpool and will drive from there to the start point.

If you have any queries in advance of the trail, please call Auriel  the days before on 087 2405071.

If weather conditions are not favourable for the hike to go ahead, Auriel will make a decision on this on the morning of the trail and she will inform you if it is going ahead or not. The decision will be based on her judgement of the conditions. It is for your safety.

This hike is strenuous and takes c 4 hrs return so if you are booking a place onto it, please bear that in mind. Fitness is required. Please do not turn up without hiking boots or waterproof gear.
