Yeats Trail Rosses Point

Yeats Trail Rosses Point

Try one of our relaxing Sligo walks and visit the old house in Rosses Point where W.B.Yeats used to stay with his uncle

Rosses Point is a small, historic, maritime village just 10 minutes drive from Sligo town where you can soak up stunning scenery and breathe in fresh Atlantic air. W.B Yeats and his siblings used to spend their summers here. Jack Yeats has painted many beautiful scenes from here too.

In the old days, ships passed through the narrow entrance into Sligo Harbour. Some waited for tug boats or lighter boats to guide them in to the Sligo quays to relieve them of their cargoes. The place is full of stories and marked by historical events in Irish history. As we walk, we will tell you about smuggling, shipwrecks and hauntings! This is one of the nicest Sligo walks.
