Yeats Trail

Try our interesting Yeats Trail.  We start our day at the scenic village of Rosses Point, just 15 mins drive from Sligo town and where William Butler Yeats, Jack Yeats and their sisters, Lilly and Lolly Yeats spent their summer time childhood years. They were fond of this seaside village. On our Yeats Trail, we walk along by the sea taking in gorgeous views of Oyster and Coney Islandand pass by the old house where their uncle used to live. We stop by relics and interesting features along a coastal path so soak up stunning scenery, views of islands and light houses and breathe in fresh Atlantic air!  Jack Yeats painted many beautiful scenes from here which we will show you while strolling around. This is an easy walk and very enjoyable.

Afterwards, we drive back into Sligo Town and have a tasty brunch at award winning W.B’s Coffee House. We will then do a Sligo Town Tour stopping at historic buildings, W.B Yeats statute, the Garavogue river, Sligo Abbey and St. Johns Cathedral where the parents of William Butler Yeats got married.
